The Approach

Psychotherapy is a dynamic process that looks and feels different for every person and every couple. Trained in a diverse set of techniques, I will work with you to determine the approach that best suits your unique needs.

I hold several key perspectives:

  • Relational Perspective: I understand the importance of human connection and see individuals as intricately linked within their relationships—intimate, familial, cultural, and societal. Healing our relationships is integral to healing ourselves.

  • Psychodynamic Perspective: I work with the belief that unconscious parts influence our thoughts and feelings about ourselves, others, and the world. Making the unconscious conscious is a key aspect of the healing journey.

  • Transpersonal Perspective: I believe we all have access to an inner source of wisdom, knowledge, and insight beyond our understanding of self. Tapping into and honoring this source can be awe-inspiring, regenerative, and transformational.

  • Somatic Perspective: I value the wisdom of the body and understand that our bodies hold our experiences. Working with the body’s feelings, sensations, and fears is also working with the unconscious.

  • Humanistic Perspective: Our sessions will be grounded in supportive listening, creating an environment of empathy, acceptance, and genuineness. This includes offering unconditional positive regard, ensuring you feel deeply heard and understood. This foundation is essential for transformative therapy.

I utilize various modalities to support your journey:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Identifying and harmonizing different parts of the self, addressing internal conflicts, and promoting self-leadership.

  • Somatic Therapy: Using movement, touch, breath, and expression to release stored energy and trauma held within the body.

  • Gestalt Therapy: Focusing on present-moment awareness and experience to foster personal growth and self-awareness.

  • Somatic Experiencing: Gently guiding you through your body’s natural healing processes to address trauma and restore a sense of safety and regulation.

  • Attachment / Ideal Parent Figure Work: Enhancing your capacity for secure attachments and healing relational wounds.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Strengthening emotional bonds and improving communication within relationships.

  • Mindfulness: Cultivating present-moment awareness and acceptance to foster greater self-awareness and emotional regulation, encouraging a non-judgmental understanding of oneself and promoting deeper insights and a balanced approach to life's challenges.

  • Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP): For clients that qualify and are interested, I provide Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy in combination with ongoing therapy.

By integrating these approaches, I aim to create a compassionate, client-centered space where you can uncover the core issues affecting your life and achieve meaningful, lasting change.
